Bring me your business challenge.
I’ll find the right marketing strategy + execution.
You don't need another marketing consultant telling you what you already know. You need someone who can get into the room, understand what's really going on and help you decide what to do next. That's exactly how I work.
Yes, every business has challenges.
The hard part is knowing what REALLY needs fixing.
Sure, not every business challenge is a marketing problem.
But challenges around growth, differentiation, visibility, customer understanding, sales confidence, positioning and communication often have a marketing component.
That’s where I come in!
I help business leaders step out of the everyday noise, interrogate the problem and work out what actually matters so we can identify the right marketing response.
I’ll explain.
There’s usually more going on than the marketing problem you first see.
My job is to find it, challenge it and work out what to do next.
What does a marketing consultant actually do?
A marketing consultant helps you make better decisions about how your business goes to market.
That could mean working out why your marketing isn’t getting traction, clarifying what makes your business different, strengthening your positioning and messaging, identifying where to focus or helping your leadership team decide what needs to happen next.
My role isn’t to give you more marketing activity for the sake of it.
- Sometimes you need a strategy.
- Sometimes you need a fresh perspective.
- Sometimes you need someone experienced enough to ask the questions nobody internally is asking.
- Sometimes you just need someone in the room who can make sense of the mess.
Let me walk you through it
01
You want your marketing to actually make sense.
Clearer direction.
Sharper positioning.
Stronger communication.
Results you can point to.
The Goal → Clarity
02
To get there, everything needs to start pointing in the same direction.
Your strategy, your messaging, your positioning and your marketing all need to support where the business is trying to go.
Clarity → Direction
03
To find that direction, we need to understand what's really happening.
That means digging deeper, challenging assumptions and identifying what actually matters.
Direction → Action
This is where I come in.
I'm Christopher Melotti, a Marketing Consultant, Brand Strategist and Messaging Specialist.
I work directly with Australian business owners, executives and leadership teams to solve marketing, communications and brand challenges that have become too important, too complicated or too frustrating to keep circling internally.
I work with you to get to the heart of the problem.
You know your business, your customers and your industry. I bring an outside perspective, more than 20 years of marketing experience and the questions that help uncover what really matters.
Then we work out what to do about it.
Here's how that plays out in 5 Steps
Step 01
We Talk
Everything starts with an honest discovery conversation, not a tick-box exercise.
I want to understand what’s really happening, where you’re stuck, what’s frustrating you and what you’ve already tried.
Because the problem you first bring me isn’t always the problem we ultimately need to solve.
Step 02
I Dig Deep
I ask questions. LOTS of them. Fair warning.
Most businesses are sitting on more value, expertise and differentiation than they realise.
My job is to dig that out.
- Why do customers choose you?
- What makes you genuinely different?
- What isn’t being communicated clearly?
- Where is the disconnect between what the business knows and what the market sees?
That’s often where the answer is hiding.
Step 03
I Challenge
You’re not hiring me to nod along.
If something doesn’t add up, I’ll tell you.
If your marketing isn’t working, we’ll interrogate why.
If customers probably don’t care about something, I’ll question why you’re focusing on it.
And if your positioning sounds like everyone else’s, we’ll keep digging until we find something stronger.
My job is to bring an experienced, independent perspective, not become another yes-person in the room.
Step 04
We Create Clarity
Then we turn the thinking into something tangible.
That might mean clearer positioning, stronger messaging, a marketing strategy, campaign direction, a personal brand, a new value proposition or simply a clearer set of priorities.
I’m not interested in creating a giant document nobody reads.
I’m interested in creating a clear outcome you can actually use.
Step 05
We Make It Useful
Then we get practical.
- What needs to happen next?
- What should you prioritise?
- What needs to change?
- What should your team be doing differently?
I focus on helping you walk away with clear direction, practical next steps and a better understanding of why you’re doing them.
What marketing clarity actually changes
When the thinking is clear, everything that follows becomes easier.
What gets easier
It becomes easier to:
- Explain what you do clearly
- Show customers why you're different
- Sell with more confidence
- Market more consistently
- Align your team
- Prioritise what matters
- Make better marketing decisions
Where that clarity shows up
You start to see it across your:
- Website and content
- Marketing and sales
- Brand positioning
- LinkedIn presence
- Proposals and campaigns
- Customer experience
- Leadership conversations
- Use of AI
My goal is to give you clarity that improves how your business communicates, markets, sells and moves forward.
You probably don't need an Australian marketing consultant because everything's running smoothly!
Usually, something has triggered the conversation.
Maybe:
- Your business has evolved but your brand hasn't caught up.
- You're good at what you do but struggle to explain why you're different.
- Your marketing is busy but doesn't feel particularly strategic.
- Sales and marketing aren't quite lining up.
- Your customers aren't seeing the value you know is there.
- Your leadership team has different opinions about how the business should be positioned.
- You're entering a new market, launching something or changing direction.
- You're doing plenty of marketing but aren't sure what's actually working.
- You keep circling the same marketing problem internally and aren't getting anywhere.
Or maybe it's simply:
“Something isn't quite right and I need an experienced outside perspective.”
That's enough. Not sure where you're up to?
Tell me what's going on and I'll help you work out the next best step.
Where do we start?
Every challenge is different, so every engagement should look different too.
Have a marketing, brand or business challenge you need to work through?
We get the right people in the room, unpack what’s happening and work through it together.
This is a good place to start when you need experienced external thinking, clearer direction or help making an important marketing decision.
Struggling to explain what makes your business different?
We clarify your positioning, value proposition, brand story, messaging and voice so your customers and your own team understand exactly what you stand for and why it matters.
Have plenty of marketing activity but aren’t convinced it’s adding up to a clear strategy?
I review where you are, identify the gaps and establish the priorities, direction and marketing actions that should guide what comes next.
Know you need to become more visible but don’t want to manufacture some ridiculous online persona?
Good.
I help executives, founders and experts articulate what they stand for, what they want to be known for and how to build a credible personal brand around their real expertise.
Sometimes you don’t need another employee or agency.
You need an experienced marketer you can bring into the conversation when important decisions need to be made.
I work with businesses as an ongoing strategic advisor and fractional CMO, helping leadership teams navigate marketing challenges, opportunities and changing priorities over time.
You’ll work directly with me
Christopher Melotti as your personal marketing consultant
When you engage Christopher Melotti Consulting, you’re engaging me.
- I lead the strategy sessions.
- I ask the questions.
- I do the strategic thinking.
- I challenge the assumptions.
- And I work through the problem alongside you.
That direct involvement matters.
You’re bringing me in for my experience, perspective and strategic marketing thinking, so I stay close to the work.
Where an engagement requires broader marketing execution, creative development, content or specialist support, I can also bring in the team at Melotti Content Media.
Senior strategic thinking when you need it.
An experienced marketing team when it's time to make it real.
This works best when we both get involved.
Here’s what I expect from you.
The strongest engagements are collaborative.
I’ll bring energy, experience, curiosity, commercial thinking and an outside perspective.
From you, I need honesty.
Tell me what’s really happening. Tell me where things aren’t working. Tell me what you’ve already tried. Challenge me if something doesn’t feel right. Bring the right people into the conversation and share the context, including the uncomfortable stuff.
The more openly we work together, the better the outcome will be.
Because I’m not here to hand down marketing commandments.
We're here to work the problem.
You don't need the perfect brief.
You don't need all the answers. And you definitely don't need to diagnose the problem before you call me.
You can start with:
- “Our marketing just doesn’t feel right.”
- “We have no idea how to explain what makes us different.”
- “Everyone internally describes us differently.”
- “The business has changed but our marketing hasn’t.”
- “We’re doing a lot but I’m not sure we’re doing the right things.”
- “Customers aren’t seeing why we’re worth choosing.”
- “I know where I want to take my personal brand but I can’t articulate it.”
- “We have too many ideas and need someone to make sense of them.”
- “Something needs to change. I’m just not sure what.”
Perfect. Bring me that. We’ll work it out together.
You may have seen me here!
I regularly contribute to conversations around marketing strategy, branding, communications, AI and business growth
through speaking, writing, workshops and media features.
It all comes back to the same thing: understanding how businesses communicate, how customers make decisions
and how marketing can help bring the two together.
You’ve heard my side of the story.
Here’s what it looks like from the other side of the table.
"Chris ran an incredible Copywriting 101 workshop with my team, and was super engaging and has so much amazing energy. My whole team gave excellent feedback and took away immediate workable solutions to issues that were holding them back from being better writers. THANK YOU Chris!"
"Chris is amazing! I was privileged to have sat in a few of the workshops he did for Aquent Australia and his passion, enthusiasm and general great advice really boosted my knowledge of how to write great copy for job ads as well as how to write engaging posts for social media. Chris doesn't waste a breath, every word of his advice is valuable and I'm not only a fan, but I highly recommend him to any team or organisation wanting to boost their engagement."Look no further than Christopher and Melotti Media."
"Fantastic workshop! One of the best I've done and I have done quite a few with AMI. You are a really engaging speaker and excited through an online session when it's not F2F. You were super encouraging and made people feel comfortable to engage. I think that's really cool!"
"I attended a few sessions run by Chris on marketing for Recruitment. He gave realistic examples of “what to do” and “what not to do” & easy to understand reasons why. His enthusiasm is catching and his presentation skills is engaging. I would highly recommend Chris for advice on Content Marketing and Copywriting."
Now you know how I work.
Let’s talk about what’s going on.
If you need an experienced Sydney marketing consultant who can bring clear thinking, strong energy and commercial focus to your business, let’s have a conversation.
I work with business owners, executives and leadership teams across Australia on marketing strategy, brand positioning, messaging, communications, personal branding and ongoing strategic marketing advisory.
- Tell me about the challenge, the opportunity or the thing your team keeps circling.
- I’ll bring the questions.
- Together, we’ll find the clarity.
Your questions. My answers.
A marketing consultant helps a business understand what isn’t working, where the opportunities are and what marketing should do next.
That can include reviewing your current marketing, clarifying your positioning, strengthening your messaging, identifying priorities, developing a marketing strategy or helping your leadership team make better commercial decisions.
As an Australian Marketing Consultant, Christopher Melotti works directly with business owners, executives and leadership teams to turn marketing challenges into clearer direction and practical action.
My role isn’t simply to give you more marketing to do. It’s to help you understand what needs to change, why it matters and what you should do about it.
Usually when a marketing challenge can’t be solved by simply doing more of the same.
You might be dealing with growth, differentiation, unclear positioning, inconsistent messaging, poor marketing performance, a new launch or a leadership team that needs stronger strategic direction.
You might also already have a capable internal marketing team but need an experienced outside perspective.
That’s often where someone like Christopher Melotti can add value as a marketing consultant, strategic advisor or fractional CMO, helping you step out of the day-to-day activity and work out what actually deserves attention.
You don’t need to wait until everything is broken. Sometimes the best time to bring in a marketing consultant is before the next important decision is made.
That’s completely fine.
Sometimes you know exactly what’s wrong. Other times, you just know the marketing isn’t landing, customers aren’t seeing the value, the team keeps circling the same conversation or something simply feels off.
You don’t need to diagnose the problem before speaking to me.
Bring me the messy version.
I’ll ask the questions, dig into what’s happening and help work out whether the real issue sits in your marketing strategy, brand positioning, messaging, customer communication or somewhere else entirely.
That problem-solving approach is a big part of how Christopher Melotti Consulting works.
Directly, collaboratively and with plenty of questions.
You work with me, not a junior consultant who gets briefed afterwards.
I lead the strategy conversations, challenge the thinking and stay close to the work because you’re engaging me for my experience, perspective and strategic marketing judgement.
And no, I won’t just agree with everything you say.
If something doesn’t make sense, I’ll tell you. If your customers probably don’t care about something, I’ll question it. If your positioning sounds like everyone else in your market, we’ll keep digging.
My job is to bring an experienced, independent marketing perspective, not become another yes-person in the room.
If the strategy then needs broader marketing execution, content, campaigns or specialist support, I can bring in the team at Melotti Content Media to help make it real.
Definitely not.
Every engagement doesn’t need to look the same.
Some clients need a few focused hours with an experienced marketing consultant to work through one important issue. Others need a deeper strategy engagement, ongoing advisory support or fractional CMO guidance over time.
I don’t believe in forcing every business through the same consulting process simply because it looks good on a diagram.
The engagement should fit the problem. Not the other way around.
And you don’t need a polished brief before you call.
You can start with:
- “Our marketing just doesn’t feel right.”
- “We’re good at what we do but struggle to explain why we’re different.”
- “We have too many ideas and no idea what to prioritise.”
- “The business has changed but our marketing hasn’t caught up.”
Tell me what’s going on and I’ll help you unpack it from there.
I’m based in Sydney and work with business owners, executives and leadership teams across Australia.
Depending on the engagement, we can work together in person, virtually or through a combination of strategy sessions, workshops and ongoing advisory support.
What matters most isn’t where we sit.
It’s getting the right people into the conversation and working through the challenge properly.
